Sunday Sample

Here it is - the second Sunday in March and I am actually up, dressed -almost anyway -ready to roll out and head to church. We've not been out to church for the past month -maybe even slightly over a month -as the creeping crud sinus/flu/cold whatever thing hit this place early on in February thus keeping a couple of us here from getting out, going anyplace.

Last night, Mandy happened to notice something laying on the end table by the sofa - a little tube-like item - and upon closer inspection, she discovered it was a tube of glue. Hmmm. Where did this come from she was asking and I had no clue -didn't even know we had any of that stuff left in the house. The last I'd seen anything like that was last May when I was working on the photo display I made up for my class reunion.

This morning though, when Mandy came down stairs she saw something that obviously was in place last night but neither of us had noticed it then.
This picture was nicely displayed at the foot of the stairs on the hall wall. Note the signature of the person who did the fancy coloring work at the right top of the picture.
As Mandy came into the living room, she noticed this piece hanging on the sidewall too. Ah ha! The lightbulb in her mind then came on and she realized exactly WHO had been messing with the glue because both these crayoned pictures had been pasted to the walls there! Amazing that neither Mandy or I had any idea where this gluestick had been hiding but some little four-year-old knew exactly where to find it -and how to use it too!

As I was sitting here a little bit ago doing the Bushisms for the week ahead post, I heard some noises behind me. Turning to the direction of the sounds, here's what I found. The sweet little kitten - Jorge - up in the window apparently surveying the snow sights from the bow window in the living room.

Since I was on a bit of a roll now with the camera, I went in search of our old cat - the "Queen Bee" here - Gracie. She hides a lot nowadays; not feeling too chipper I think much of the time. But I located her out on the bench in the entranceway to the house. She's still a pretty cat - at least to us - but considering how skinny she is now and her fur is dull, not near as fluffy as it has always been either, I figured I'd best try to get another picture of Gracie for posterity's sake, if nothing else. So, with that being said, here's Gracie today.
She's failing more and more now - and I suppose, considering she's about 16 1/2 years old now, it's to be expected. I fully expect any day now to wake up and find her curled up in a ball, looking like she's just asleep but being forever at rest. She's been a good cat over these years - a sweet, loveable ball of fluff. Very nice around the grandkids too - never running from them, allowing them to pet her even when Maya or Kurt has maybe been a bit on the rough side in trying to handle her too, she's never shown any issues for their rough handling. And aside from her senility issues now and then now when she forgets where her litter box is located and uses an imaginary one in front of the sink or the stove, she's been the absolute best cat this family has ever had.

'Nuff said for this morning! Go forth now and have a good day. Try to stay warm too, OK?

Pictures glued to the wall. Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are. LOL!!!

She glued them to the wall! You have to admire how resourceful this little girl is.

Jorge looks so happy and Gracie must have been a beautiful baby cause she still is now.

Maya is one smart little cookie! Isn't it amazing the things they get away with when you aren't paying attention?

Awwww, poor Gracie. I hope Jorge doesn't give her a hard time. She looks like such a sweetheart.

Gracie is so much like our Arial, my blogging buddy...she is 19 years old and the office is her domain...I comb a little lanolain into her coat three times a week...she doesn't love the combing, but she loves how shiny she is, lol...as to the artist in the family, hope you plan on saving those to glue on her walls one day when she's not looking, lol

I'm at least recovered from the crud enough to go to work and visit blogs, not necessarily in that order...

Little ones can be so ingenious.

Maya decided you need some art on the walls-that is a one clever kid! Very nice coloring, by the way! Love it!

Gracie looks like a sweet soul and it's hard for those older kitties, but she seems to be content for now.

Hope all is well!

Pictures glued to the wall eh? Well, at least she understands that beautiful pictures should be properly displayed.

LOL!

16 1/2 years?! What's that like in human years: 112 ?! Wowzey! It sure looks good to be a pet in your household!

Glad to hear you all are feeling better and are getting out and about ~ it really makes you anticipate Spring, doesn't it?

Best to you all and have a great week :)

I love that picture of Gracie.

I hope your feeling better. I think we have the same darn thing!

I understand the glue thing. I never have glue or tape when I need it!

In my experience, kids ALWAYS know where the glue sticks are.
