Coming along -a long way!

Wow! Our house has taken on the aura of a mini florist shop now today.

Remember on Tuesday, Mandy got a delivery of flowers from her Dad in honor of her birthday - which was Monday but what the heck difference does one little day make when you're only 32 years old anyway.

Here's what the bouquet of Peruvian Lilies her dad sent her look like today. Aren't they pretty though?
And, here's a shot of the first one of these buds to blossom out.
Here's the second bloomer to peek through!

And, last night, when Mandy went upstairs to get ready for bed, this is what was laying, all wrapped up then, on her bed!

Isn't this just the prettiest shading of these roses though?

Here's both arrangements, side by side, on the dining room table. Unfortunately, with Maya and her penchant for exploring EVERYTHING, this is not where the flowers normally are sitting. Space being at a premium around here, they are relegated now to the island in the kitchen -which isn't really a very photogenic spot either, I must add. Not that our dining room table is much better though.
Suffice it to say, right now I am really impressed with both the two most important men in my daughter's life right now. I can understand why her Dad was so excited, calling to get the correct street number of our house, then calling the next night to see if the flowers arrived and calling again, two days later, to actually talk to Mandy, wish her happy birthday and hear for himself how happy she was with his gesture.

And Bill -well to be honest -I'm not all that surprised that he did this as he's been known to stop and pick up flowers for Mandy for various occasions. Sure must be nice to have men who do that for ya, ya know! I shouldn't complain about her Dad though as he did get me a live plant for Mother's Day one year while we were married. He's come a long way too, baby!

The flowers are beautiful! I know about it being hard to have fresh flowers around the house. I have a cat that has the same effect on them as Maya does.

Just being around flowers at the grocery store yesterday was giving me a headache, so I'm thankful I don't have these in my house, but they sure are pretty to look at! Nice pictures...

Good to visit you, Jeni!
