The Shadow Knows!

Everyone all set for the big holiday tomorrow? Come on, don't tell me you don't know tomorrow is a major holiday? Well, maybe not where YOU live but here in central Pennsylvania, it most definitely is a big event.

GROUNDHOG DAY!

Tomorrow, February 2nd, the town of Punxsutawney, PA will definitely be hopping with all the fanfare as Punxsy Phil - the official groundhog - will be coaxed from his burrow by his "handlers" - his court - and Phil's words of wisdom will be broadcast far and wide throughout the land.

Six more weeks of winter!

Ever notice the little fellow, even on the darkest and cloudiest days, will always manage to see his shadow.

I hate that little creature!

I always thought Groundhog Day was one of the coolest movies I ever saw...real funny.

If he sees his shadow could you shoot him for me? It's time to start baseball outside and I don't want anymore winter.

Hi Jeni I tried to send you an email but it came back to me so I left you a message on my site on yesterdays post. I had a suggestion about your emails and I have decided to go with XP as well. I hope I am not too late about your email collection.

Yes, February 2nd is Groundhog Day (we have Wiarton Willy up here). It was also my Mom's birthday, so she always got to celebrate 2 things.

Gene - at the risk of bringing down the wrath of PETA on me, if I had a gun and could see well enough to shoot the little suckers, I'd be more than happy to do away with 'em.

To East of Oregon - I live about 60-70 miles -give or take - from Punxsutawney - roughly 1 full county to the east of Punxsy Phil's burrow you could say! LOL

I've always wondered about this. If he sees his shadow in Penn., will there be six more weeks of winter in Oregon?
If Kansas has a red sky in the morning, is that a warning to sailors in the South China Sea?
It's all so confusing to me.

I'll let you in on a secret...people in the desert like me actually pray that Phil will see his shadow. Remember, our winters only last six weeks:-)
