Here's my problem. I found out last Sunday from two friends of mine who had tried to e-mail me with questions and information about our class reunion (which was held last night, Saturday, June 2nd) that e-mails they had sent me were being returned to them by my ISP with a message stating it was due to the fact my account was "inactive." Both these friends thought this was really strange - also really funny too - that my e-mail would be returning e-mails with a message like that - due to inactivity on my part!
Anyone who knows me knows I pretty much camp in front of my computer the better part of the day and night! Rarely is my computer turned off and rarely am I not online.
Where I notice that I must be bouncing is through a group I belong to - a Yahoo group - The Writer's Life. This group is probably one of the most active groups around - frequent postings made there at all hours of the day and night and when I go several hours without an e-mail from the group now, as soon as I realize it' s been quite a long dry spell, I go to the yahoo group and check to see if I am ok or if I am showing up there as "bouncing" - meaning Yahoo can't deliver any messages to me because my e-mail provider isn't accepting them due to my supposed "inactivity."
Anyone here have any problems like that with their provider, their computer, etc? And, if so, what did you do to get it corrected anyway?
All this c rapola just makes me love Peoplepc.com and their service so much more ya know.
NOT!!!!!
If it weren't that a change of e-mail address for me would be a royal pain in the old behind, I would drop this provider in a heartbeat! But the mere thought of sending out a change of e-mail address to roughly 200 people in my address book is something I really don't like the idea at all of having to do something like that! As a matter of fact, it's the only thing keeping me from switching over from dial-up to broadband through my tv cable company! I'm holding off there because peoplepc.com sent a message out not too long ago stating they will be adding DSL to their service in the very near future and anyone who switches over to DSL service when it is made available will be able to keep their current e-mail address.
That's so nice to know that you don't have to change your address when you have an address book the size of mine and subscribe to a kazillion other programs too which send me newsletters, and lots of other goodies too on a daily basis.
But, much more of this nonsense from peoplepc.com and their screwing around with delivery of e-mail messages and I am about ready to bite that bullet and change my e-mail address by subscribing to the broadband service available here in this area now.
Nite all! Time for me to go to bed!

It always amazes me when you make a post and it doens't show up anywhere....I wonder where on earth did it go...is it floating out there in cyber space...no idea...computer stuff is all over my head anyways...I let my hubby deal with the glitches...my little mind can't deal with it...actually I don't want to....I just want to type...tell stories....and read about others....
hope you are having a great day!
I would hate to go through the hassle of changing my email address, too, though I have no where near 200 contacts in my address book!
LOL, I found you in my google alerts for "The Writer's Life"! Jeni, I had no idea you were bouncing. Let me go into the main page and see if I can't unbounce you, but I've not been getting emails either and had to send people to my gmail address. I know yahoo is setting something up to where we get unlimited storage...maybe it's them. I was wondering why you were so quiet in the group and thought you might be mad about something! I must email people I don't hear from to see if they're okay...and then again...the email may not even get to them. Ah well, written a book right here...let me go check the main page...I miss you!
