Hubby earned approximately $1,900 the year before last doing odd jobs and dutifully declared it on our tax return, but it put us over the top on our pension so we lost our Pharmicare (drugs paid) had to pay medical where we did not have to before, were charged $1500 in taxes and our pension reduced the following year. We ended up losing approximately $6000 for that small earnings he made.Bernihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02393286338757929488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34398479.post-42578279799412379882009-04-24T15:08:00.000-04:002009-04-24T15:08:00.000-04:00We had the same experience - APPEAL it! Last month, he got notice that his SSDI is too high for the state to pay the Medicare payment. He appealed the decision, and it was reversed. Don't just accept the first decision - there's a reason that they have an appeals process. I hope it works out for you!Chameleonhttp://everydaytarot.today.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34398479.post-30199877567070134472009-04-24T12:37:00.000-04:002009-04-24T12:37:00.000-04:00Giving with one hand and taking (more) with anothe...Giving with one hand and taking (more) with another is not an unknown problem anywhere. Needless to say, that over here......pensioners are struggling badly as British pensions are not enough to live on and the Government have *spent* our private pensions!
