Credit Where It's Due!

This afternoon, I decided I not only should take Sammy for a walk but I needed to take him -and by the same token -myself, for a walk too.

I hadn't really paid much attention to the weather forecast on the noon news today but I thought I'd heard them say the temps today were to run in the high 30s and even in the 40s in some areas. Soooo...I figured that didn't sound too terribly bad for February temperatures and so, Sammy and I set off to walk up to the mailboxes, get the bills and back home again.

All of which amounts to roughly 2/3 of a mile, give or take and I need to get as many walking miles in as I can in order to keep Sam functioning properly (meaning not making any messes now and again in the house) and also, to try to maybe (if I'm really lucky) manage to take off a couple of pounds every now and again too.

Out the door we went and much to my surprise, there were really itty-bitty snowflakes flurrying around. How could that be that it was colder that I figured it would feel plus, that moisture coming down in the form of a fine snowy sort of mist?

Evidently old Phil's prediction of six more weeks of winter today is already kicking in and coming true!

Sheesh! After the beautiful weather we had the past couple of days, it's almost enough to get me thinking about looking for some Nags Head real estate!

By the time Sam and I reached the mailboxes, the snow had picked up a good bit of volume -and speed -and as we got home, I was almost afraid to look at my hair for fear it would look like I had a white-powdered wig on or something like that. Thankfully though, it was fine enough that it disappeared before I even got my coat off!

Guess we just have to brace ourselves for a few more days over the next month and a half of stuff like this, don't we?

We are having really cold Arctic weather now with snow forecast. And yet the days look sunny enough. Weird.

A walk in that kind of weather is really bracing. Its only when theres ice that I don't want to risk breaking my neck!
