A friend of mine called me the other day and told me that he'd been seen some stuff at this site - equestrian apparel at TheEquestrianCorner.com and knowing how Mandy and I are about Sammy, our dog, he thought I should check this site out.
Frankly, I thought he was nuts because after all, it's for equestrian apparal, isn't it? That's the name of the place so one would think it was just for people into horse shows and stuff like that.
But I did that and boy, what a shock it was to me to see all the stuff they sell at this place, even including special clothes for dogs! I thought equestrian clothing just amounted to the special clothes for the rider but holy rip, this place covers that and all kinds of other things from purses to video games, toys, saddles -you name it!
Amazing, isn't it how many things can come into play under one little website though, isn't it?
I'm gonna go back there and check out the dog stuff. Who knows, maybe I can find some cute little thing for Sammy while nosing around there, huh? Winter's gonna be arriving before we know it and one thing Sam doesn't like is walking in the cold, icy rain. Who can blame him, as I don't like that either! But maybe I can find him a raincoat that will make him comfy-cozy on those cold, very wet fall and winter days. Wonder if they have boots too?
I guess the moral of this post is just don't be surprised at the stuff you might find online under a name that is somewhat misleading though. Dog clothes at an equestrian clothing site!

Nice to be shown something you may have passed up on your own. We all do that to some degree; take titles literally and don't check out some blogs or websites that may have some goodies we would like. You are mentioning winter and I have been talking about some things I want to get done here before winter.
I have to admit... my first thought was, "Jeni's writing about surfing? What the heck?"
I should have realized you were talking about the kind of surfing we online types love to do!
I wonder if that site would have anything for my cat? The human members of the family would get a kick out of it, but the cat would hate us forever if we tried to dress him up in some kind of kitty sweater!
I would have to agree with Terri's comment...I thought you were going to write about surfing...I was thinking..surfing in PA? Hmmm interesting....surfing as in board surfing is very popular here on the Westcoast of Vancouver Island, so naturally that is where my mind took me.
Well I hope you find some nice clothes for you doggy...you'll have to show us pictures if you do!
When I was on vacation in northern Arizona, some neighbors of my folks were trying out different kinds of booties for their dogs. It gets so hot on the pavement that their little pads get burned.
Hey, you never know what you're going to find on the internet! Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. Just about always interesting, though :-)
A little raincoat for Sammy is fine but I absolutely HATE the thought of dressing up any animal in dresses and pants. I think its verging on cruelty!
In fact it is one of my pet hates. I'd better get off my soap box now.

I just saw a documentary about Surfers Healing - a group that helps autistic children improve their balance and self esteem thru surfing with them
it's run by a couple with an autistic son, the Dad used to be a world class surfer
anyway - Sam does need a coat
check out some of the animal rescue/shelter sites
they're usually cheaper and a part of the money goes back to animals
